Google Page Rank: Outbound Linking is Good News

Whenever I read articles on Triond, Bukisa, Xomba, and other publishing sites that operate in the same manner, I am amazed that people writing articles miss out on the most obvious links they could include in their articles to make them more interesting, to make following up on a theme more easy for the reader (which I consider common courtesy toward the reader who wants to know more), and to improve your Google Page Rank. Because, yes, outbound links may improve your ranking.

Some of you may believe that outbound links will add little if nothing to your ranking and that those links are inserted at the expense of inbound links. The arguments run along two lines: on one hand that outbound links drain your Google Page Rank (by somehow metaphysically jumping to other pages, I suppose); and on the other hand that the massive reciprocity of all those sites you linked to will result in enough inbound links to cause Google to think you're using magical black hat techniques.

Neither of these arguments holds water.

First, outbound links do not somehow inexplicably cancel out the good that inbound links do to your articles. Lets suppose that the Google Page Rank of Socyberty is at 4 and you are writing an article for that site containing external links. This will neither affect nor actually harm Socyberty's Page Rank. It might help the PR of another site (for example Quazen), but not at the expense of Socyberty. The amount of Page Rank oxygen you're blowing into a site you link to is equal to Socyberty's PR divided by the number of outbound links on all Socyberty. The amount of oxygen going out is minimal as per link, as there are thousands in all the articles, but the sum of all oxygen going out is always equal to the total Page Rank; it cant go into the negative, draining Page Rank out. What goes out to individual sites is marginal, but it is a little like positive karma. As with plants, the oxygen given off by a site is not harmful to its source.

This logic applies to internal links, too, and the link oxygen they carry between Socybertys pages.

Second, the argument that if you have outbound links resulting in a flood of reciprocal links will make Google think you're using nefarious tactics has little truth to it, too. First of all, you should be linking out to sites that are relevant to your articles theme. If you are very lucky, these sites might give you a back link in return, and that will only improve your ranking. If you're linking to good, non-spam, non-link farm sites, reciprocal inbound links will not harm your Page Rank. The incoming karma is just as marginal as the one you give out, but all those bits and pieces will add up over time.

Make sure your outbound links don't cause problems. Choose links that are relevant to your article, and keep the outbound links spread throughout the body of the article. Don't build an interminable links list full of outbound links because such are not well received by Google.

If your article is considered a useful provider of content, the more high-quality and relevant outbound links will help you. While it may seem counter-intuitive to be giving other sites extra exposure, the truth is that you will profit from wisely chosen links. Apart from using inbound links (Socyberty to Socyberty, Bukisa to Bukisa, etc.), using outbound links (Socyberty to Quazen, Socyberty to Bukisa, etc.) will profit all concerned.

This is why you will find that my articles always contain links not only to my own articles that are relevant, but often to other writers articles and outside sources, if available, relevant, and worth reading.

Testing Lead to Preventive Measure

Why testing is important for any product? Everybody knows about it but ignores it intentionally, especially when change is minor. Normally, people assume that for small changes why we should spend so much time on testing. The reason is, we are using so many tools and technologies available in the market without even knowing 20% of its usage and implication. Do we really aware of these tools being passed all the testing hurdles? Do we really understand the limitations? Do we understand internal complexity of it? Do we analyze if it would be fit for our project? Even though, if, it is known to the architect/designer, is this knowledge pass down to the developer level? The answer is NO!!!!!

That is reason why I would suggest having more review & testing time than earlier.

Testing team should be completely different from development team and directly reporting to client. That way, client can ensure correctness and completeness of development. It is a difficult thing to convince service industry, but, client should make themselves aware of these facts.

Software testing is to ensure the business and technical requirement is being met based on the test data and controlled as well as uncontrolled operating conditions.

Software testing is a process of creating test cases based on requirement (both business & technical) and run it under conditions to see the expected results. The result in software testing is either pass or fail. You can compare this to your exams!!!!! It is the examination time for development team.

There various methods that can be used for software product. But, the methods should be chosen based on following criteria: 1. Type of project/product (Development, Maintenance, Support,) 2. Size of the project/product 3. Type of talent in the team Testing is a major contributor in deciding on preventive action to be taken.

Companies normally put good amount of money on quality, six sigma, CMM assessment but one thing that they forget is all these processes will work perfectly when you have strong review & testing team/process. Unless, you understand every possible issue, small or big, there is no way you can prevent it in future.

I remember one incident when we were developing a client based product. This was the time when we were hardcore developers. We have developed it with solid design (using OOPs methodology, those days it was bigger achievement) and used all the robust objects under VC++. The product got developed and I was assigned to do the testing of the product. I did the testing and passed it. However, one of my friends had some doubt on this and sat with me for another round of testing. We have tested this product by running the same application again and again. After testing it 14th time, there is an object in the menu got disappear!! Subsequently, for each cycle of testing objects are getting disappeared

The problem was we release an object which is created by us, however, as per the guideline this object will also get released by compiler as well.

Keywords

Keyword Secret is developed by Jeff Alderson & Howie Schwartz and is a tool that will automatically provide you with the keywords that Google thinks are important to a particular topic or niche. This tool automates the time-consuming task of developing your list of related keywords. The process is totally automated and as it builds a list of keywords that Google thinks are important for a certain topic, it eliminates all the guesswork of using synonyms and gives you laser accuracy instead. You'll be able to develop your sites with Latent Semantic Indexing in mind. Listening to what Matt Cutts - THE Google public voice of search - has to say on the topic of building your website in a logical tree-like manner, youll realize that this is vitally important: "I prefer a tree like architecture, so everything branches out in nice sort of even paths, and also good if things are broken down by topic......if you break it down by topic, but make sure that those topics match well with the keywords that you expect your users to type in when they try to find your page then you should be in pretty good shape."-- Matt Cutts, The Voice of Google SearchAdvertiser Competition Scale is one of the best indicators of what is making money within a keyword group. Keyword Secret also supplies the number of advertisers who are competing for each keyword meaning you'll also be able to accurately build a list of low-competition keywords. The Search Volume Scale lets you spy on where all the traffic is. By having a volume of traffic youll be able to determine what converts.Site Related Feature gives you a list of keywords that Google considers are the primary focus of an individual website or niche topic which is great for competitive analysis. This program is not a bad asset, considering it does all the work for you: Keyword research, Keyword analysis, Keyword projection. You can do the following with Keyword Secret:To receive 400 highly relevant results directly from Goo gle AdWords, you simply need to type in multiple keywords (either broad phrase or exact).By conducting an automated search will display how many advertisers are competing for any given keyword.By entering any URL address youll know exactly what keywords Google thinks are important to that particular web page.By typing in a specific niche word such as fishing will display the top 10 URL's that Google thinks are most relevant to that particular topic. Keywords can be grouped into specific keyword themes for each of the top 10 web pages (making it even easier to isolate the most profitable niches).More targeted, profit-pulling ideas for page, topic, and niche themes are available. You'll always know exactly what keywords and themes Google thinks are important. The top results on Yahoo can also be queried for analysis.Building your sites with the suggested keyword groups will ensure that Google views your site as highly relevant to the topic.Youll create highly spot-on effective, t hemed campaigns for Google AdWords with the "power niche research"The Keyword Secret tool is a tool that oddly somehow has not been developed until now. Doesn't it make sense that if you're going to work with Google that you'll want to get as much information about how *Google* sees things. While working with Google's keyword tool directly has been profitable for many of us, the truth is it still too clumsy to work with. Keyword Secret lets me get exponentially more *meaningful* data in a fraction of the time (my subscription accidentally lapsed and I was having *withdrawal pains!*).Thank you so much and I now find that you are the few like me who has the best tech support on the internet and thus, I will most likely stay with you for as long as I can afford your service. You have a hat tip from me and as you know support is often more important than one's product and you have proven yourself with me!Serjame BaylissAuthor of Bible Of MakeupThe Power Niche keyword groupings a re so convenient that my lists are almost ready too fast; and I have to really focus in order to keep myself from being tempted to explore other niche opportunities.I love being able to trim my lists by search volume and the advertiser competition scales. And the fact that you made the Google Adwords API the chief source of the keyword variation process means I can rest easy that my lists are already created with a Google viewpoint in mind. It's like I said -- Not too BIG, Not to small, Keyword Secret is "Just Right!"Thanks again,Peter ValleMaplewood, NJ USAI would have to say that without a doubt this is the best $20 I have spent on any product. The keyword list is excellent. The site related keywords and the power niche keywords are my favorite. If you can't find good keywords to bid on with this tool you must not have a pulse. With the power niche what I like best is the data for competition and popularity which allows me to delete the high competition keywords and grab tho se golden nuggets that bring me sales and keep my costs down.Tim Amlong

Tips For Improving Home Value by Kitchen Remodeling

There is a significant amount of uncertainty about the direction the housing market is truly moving in. Many homes remain unsellable and some homeowners are choosing to remain in their homes as long as necessary for the market to recover. How long the anticipated housing market recovery will take to arrive is unknown, but some predictions say it may be another four to six years away. In the meantime, homeowners remaining in their current homes, by choice or by necessity, are thinking about which room to remodel first. Current trends suggest that investng in remodeling your home's kitchen is the smart choice. Here are some kitchen remodeling tips to keep in mind when planning your kitchen remodeling project.

Kitchen counter tops

Having decided that it's a good time to remodel your kitchen, the first thing you should think about is installing new kitchen counter tops. In the past decade or so polished granite counter tops were considered a mark of distinction. They were expensive and added just the right touch of elegance, so they were the must have home improvement. These days, however, many kitchen designers feel that granite countertops have fallen from favor, so think about replacing outdated counter tops with materials such as soap stone and marble.

Kitchen cabinets

The darling of earlier kitchen designs, black and white kitchens are still stylish, with black kitchen sinks matching black and white cabinets becoming the latest popular upgrade. Beyond black and white, however, kitchen cabinet facings are being selected for their ability to blend into the overall design and appeal of the family kitchen as a work space and multi-purpose family gathering, entertainment and work center. The preference for open kitchen spaces is still going strong, so carefully matched cabinets to linked living room or dining room spaces is an essential design factor for increasing home value.

Kitchen sinks

It has been previously noted that trend following homeowners appear to be choosing black sinks over those forever lasting and universal stainless steel sinks. However, once you introduce color into a kitchen's overall design, the choice isn't quite as clear and it's likely that stainless steel will remain the sink of choice for the foreseeable future. A new type of sink made of copper is making an appearance in some homes, but whether or not copper sinks will be favored by new home buyers is an unanswered question.

Kitchen appliances

A trend towards covered or concealed appliances lends to the ideal of the kitchen as a multi-purpose family and social gathering area. Disappearing kitchen appliances improve the comfort and atmosphere of the kitchen as a focal point for technology driven work, entertainment, and family networking.

Kitchen fixtures

Kitchen fixtures, such as faucets must be selected to complement the kitchen counter top and sink color and overall design. Elegantly designed and functional pull-out spray nozzles are increasingly in vogue and are likely to remain a distinctive element of the carefully outfitted kitchen. Chrome and brass fixtures may have been in fashion at one time, but installing attractive, color matched fixtutres will turn an ordinary kitchen into a distinctive and desirable one.

Kitchen flooring and window dressing

It shouldn't be necessary to mention that kitchen floors, lighting, and window dressing should be included early in the kitchen design stage. A carefully planned kitchen remodeling project will include these from the start and use them to frame the finished kitchen as the most important room in the house.

Finally, a well designed kitchen, being a kitchen that is multi-functional with a distinctive emphasis on satisfying the need for family members to stay in close contact with each other, will add value to your home as much as much as it will to the quality of family life.

7 Kitchen Design Ideas

Kitchens have evolved a lot over the years. Once found only in the rear of the house, today's kitchen design takes the kitchen out the background. The challenge for kitchen design is in creating a more open-faced kitchen, that is part of a dining area, a family room or a great room.

In deciding on how to design your kitchen, you must take into consideration such things as: will your kitchen have an island? Will it be of a modern or traditional design? What kinds of appliances will you need for your new kitchen design? What kind of lighting design?

1. Kitchen as 'Great Room' Whether you are redesigning an existing kitchen or planning a new kitchen in a new home there are some design considerations to keep in mind, such as including in an island or peninsula as part of the kitchen design. These can be used to connect the kitchen to a nearby dining area or family room thereby creating a 'great room'. A kitchen island or peninsula will allow the cook to keep in visual and conversational contact with family members or guests in the adjoining family or dining room.

2. Create a Kitchen Canopy To give the kitchen some visible borders without blocking views create a kitchen canopy. Also a high ceiling in the kitchen can create the perception of spaciousness.

3. Using Kitchen Cabinet Color to Set Tone of Kitchen Design Kitchen cabinets will help set the tone for the whole room. The choice of wood will influence the overall look of your cabinets. To create a light look, use a light wood such as ash, beech, birch, oak, maple, or chestnut. For medium range, select cherry. To darker kitchens, choose wood that has some color to it.

4. Plan Out Use of Cabinets and Drawers in The New Kitchen Design Plan out in the kitchen design blueprint just how your cabinets and drawers will be used and how much space and storage you will need before you start your new kitchen design. The first thing to examine is the counter surface area. Look at where you put everything in your existing kitchen and where in your new kitchen design will these things will go in the new space. Will there be more than one person cooking at a time. If so, will there be enough room for two cooks in the kitchen to work together?

5. Use The Galley-Type Kitchen Design As for counter arrangements, many kitchen designers agree the galley-type design to be the best in terms of efficiency with it's single aisle and counters to either side, making it easy to turn around to go from sink to cooking range.

6. Under-Cabinet Kitchen Lighting Kitchen lighting can be an overlooked area of kitchen design. Even if the kitchen has generally good lighting, the counter areas can be somewhat dark. For these areas under-cabinet lighting can help provide more light to work in. By using simple spots or fluorescent lights a smaller kitchen can be made to look larger.

7. Looking at Countertops Granite, marble, and limestone are all popular natural materials for use in countertops are available in many colors. Ceramic tile kitchen countertops are versatile, practical, and also available in many colors, as well as many shapes, patterns, and finishes. Solid surface countertops provide seamless acrylic faces. Solid surfaces also come in almost limitless colors, patterns, and styles, and are stain and heat resistant. Laminate countertops are more affordable but not built to last. Concrete countertops are known for versatility, as well as strength. Wood countertops are long lasting and easy to clean and repair but the wood will not withstand exposure to water and household chemicals. Stainless steel countertops lack the elegance of granite or tile. These countertops do not absorb stains, but tends to scratch easily.

CT Kitchen Cabinets - Kitchen Design CT

Kitchen islands present a fantastic new dimension to the kitchen in terms of aesthetic value, convenience and extra utilities. According to a study done by NHAB, 80 percent of all households would love to have a kitchen island for all the benefits it provides. Selecting the size and shape of your kitchen island is an important kitchen island design exercise before you decide on fitting or purchasing a kitchen island. Here we discuss more on the size and shape of kitchen islands.

Kitchen Island Design Size:

The size and shape of kitchen islands are based on convenience and aesthetics in that order. Too big a kitchen island, and it becomes an eyesore, blocking vision and reducing the visual spaciousness. More importantly, it reduces walking space and creates crowding. Too small a kitchen island, and it reduces utility and gives no real benefit of having one.

The ideal size for a kitchen island is something in between, taking into consideration the size of the kitchen. Deciding upon the size has more to do with assessing how much space you have around it for working.

As per the kitchen island design suggestions of expert designers, the space between the kitchen island and the appliances or the range on the countertops should be at least 42 inches for a single cook and 48 inches for two cooks. These kitchen island design specifications also take into consideration the door sizes of both the island as well as the appliances opposite to it. There shouldnt be a collision if both are open.

The recommended minimum size for kitchen islands as stipulated by kitchen island design pros is 4 feet by 2 feet. Anything smaller and it will be of little use.

Kitchen Island Design Shape:

The shape of a kitchen island too depends on the space around it. In most cases, rectangular or square shaped islands are best suited for closed kitchen floor plans. For open kitchen floor plans, more options open up L shaped, Y shaped, U shaped or V shaped kitchen islands. Such kitchen islands act as walls separating the kitchen from other rooms, partially that is.

The more multifaceted the kitchen island design, the more expensive the island becomes. But you also get more utilities pull out tables, drawers, shelves, towel bars, drink racks, as well as more area for appliances and sinks.

How to Maximize Space:

An oft-unused area that should be considered in kitchen island design is the one directly over the island! If the size and shape of your kitchen allows for a vertical dimension to kitchen islands, make use of it. You can incorporate a hanging rack, hanging shelf or a special lighting arrangement in your kitchen island design.

From Orkut to Google Plus: Google?s Social Networking

Google Plus is out and has been able to acquire more than 15 million members in its 1 month of existence. But did you know that Orkut (the only previous social network worth remembering from the collection of social networking that came from Google) hardly had 10000 members in its starting month. As a matter of fact till date Orkut counts its total active members to be only 66 million, a mark which Google plus is comfortably predicted to cross.

The huge popularity of Google plus has to be attributed to the smart marketing strategies incorporated by the search engine giants before the launch of the beta version of the product. The Google plus project was kept under wraps for almost a year before its launch in June, 2011. This step by the search giants assisted in building the premonition of the launch of the product. Since then Google plus has gone viral.

Anterior to the Google Plus project, Google had come up with Google Buzz. Initially when the product was launched many people felt that Google had succeed with this attempt, however after a certain period of time the interest in the product decreased. With failure of both Buzz and Wave (a attempt before Buzz), Google were almost desperate to do well in the social networking scene and with Facebook only improving everyday, the task in hand was getting tougher. The Google plus project was kept a secret for more than a year to avoid any media glare or distraction to the project. After the launch of Google Plus, it has been described as Googles biggest attempt to rival the social network Facebook.

From the launch of Orkut in 2004, Google has come a long way since then. With several of its products like Youtube, Google Maps, Google Docs becoming ubiquitous in our lives, Google now occupies a large part of our online attention. Google Plus today provides options of group chats (huddles), group video chats (hangouts) where Orkut didnt even have a normal chat at that time (Gtalk was later incorporated into Orkut).

From 2004 to 2011 a lot has changed in the computing and technology world. With technology improving everyday and new products being launched everyday we still have to wait and see how the Google Plus fairs after the honeymoon period. Weather it take over Facebook, who currently boast a humongous 750 million of user base is yet to be seen.

Review of Google Plus The New Social Network Platform

Google + is Google's social network and was launched in June 2011. It is made up of several components which are Stream, Sparks, Hangouts, Huddle, Circles and Photos. As we understand it, there will be other features launched at a future date including Google + for business. Google + is currently only for "personal" users.

It's clear that Google have put a lot of thought (and money) into this project and want to establish themselves as the premier social network of the future alongside Facebook.

At the time of writing you have to be invited by another user to join. Once you have accepted your invitation you have to set up your public Google Profile.

Set up Your Google Profile

You will be asked to complete all the usual information such as adding a photo, contact details, date of birth, employment etc but the most important is your background since it tells visitors to your profile exactly what you want them to know. You can also set up links to all of your other social media here as well as your website(s) so that visitors can connect with you in as many ways as you would like them to.

Privacy

You should also take time to customise your privacy settings when setting up your profile. Just click on the 'gear' icon to change and view your settings

Circles

Circles are the places that you organise your friends and you can drag and drop people into as many circles as you wish. There are a number of default circles created for you but you can create as many as you wish. Circles can easily be renamed or deleted. The benefit of circles is that you can share different content with different groups of people.

Stream

Your stream is a newsfeed of the latest content shared by your circles and can be anything from a status update to a photo or video or a link to a piece of content such as a blog post for example. You can '+1' a piece of content (akin to Facebook 'like'). When you want to share some content you choose who you share it with - it might be public (all your circles) or selected circles or individuals. You can filter your stream using the left hand navigation.

Sparks

Sparks is where you can search for content you are interested in. You can then create a Spark Category and always see the latest information on that subject. This content can then easily be shared with your circles. For example if you had an internet marketing business then one of your 'Sparks' might be "Internet Marketing". It it were skiing then you might have one called "skiing". Whenever you click on one of your own 'Sparks' you will get the latest content displayed to you.

Hangouts

In hangouts you can hold a group video chat. When you start a hangout your friends will see the hangout prompt in their stream and can join the hangout. The maximum number of participants at one time is ten. There is also a group text chat feature that can be used here.

Photos

In photos you can see recently uploaded photos of your friends, check out photos you have been tagged in and create albums.

Mobile

Google + is currently only available on the android operating system. There are currently two features - 'huddle' for group text chat and 'instant upload' where you can sync your pictures with your desktop.

Google + is definitely a work in progress and it is clear this is going to evolve into a very powerful platform to compete with Facebook. Once their business platform launches it will be interesting to see what advantages there are over Facebook and how they are going to monetise it.

There are obviously going to be pros and cons of Google + but our first impression has been very positive and looking forward to seeing the platform develop.

Google +: To Be Or Not To Be

So you must have heard about it or read about it or used it. If you haven't experienced any of that then maybe you should change the group of friends you hang out with or atleast expand your knowledge base. By it I here refer to the new Google project called the Google Plus. It has already generated a following of 20 million in its first month of invite only mode.

Like all the Google products Google+ succeed in creating the initial anticipation required to make the product a hit. With this being the age of social media where portals like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc have almost become obsession with the young and the old it wasnt a big surprise. However the main question is, will Google+ be able to hold our attention long enough. Though the site attracted a capacious amount of people in its initial weeks and many signed up for accounts, but most of them have not yet started using it frequently. Many set up accounts on the platform just to check out the features offered and have seldom returned to the website.

With Facebook and Twitter already such common and essential names in everybodys lives, maybe some people somewhere are finding it hard to incorporate the new Google Plus change in their everyday lives. However change can sometimes be a good antidote. With Google only working harder with Google+ to over come the Facebook and other social networks shortcomings, it might just steal the show. Features like instant uploads, hangouts and sparks have given Google+ a slight edge over the social networking giants: Facebook. Hangouts allows video group calling, where several of your friends can video chat at the same time, a feature which has not yet been incorporated into Facebook. Instant uploads lets you upload your photos directly from your cellphone to your Google+ page thus enabling updation on the move. Sparks keeps you interested when your bored, allowing you to amass more information of the fields which interest you.

Even though the Google+ buzz seems to have slightly fizzled out in its invite only mode, but analyst are still holding their cards close to them for this product from the search engine giants. Google with its prodigious assemblage of members using their online services like Youtube, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Maps and hundreds of other services, can easily overcome Facebook if the interest in Google+ remains. With smart and strategical marketing, Google can soon be omnipresent in all our online lives.

Much to say the discussion on Google+ vs Facebook and other social networking platforms is far from over; in-fact it has just begun.

Google Plus. The New Social Networking Rival to Facebook

Google have recently launched a new social network to rival Facebook. Although Google plus is still in a trial stage (only a certain number of users have been invited and are currently able to use the site), it looks as though it may just give Facebook some much needed competition.

Take a look at this quick video below showing the basics of Google+ or Google plus project.

The first thing is what is known as Hangouts, which is group video calling. This will enable people to chat via video in groups. Something that Facebook is trying to rival with their recently announced partnership with Skype, however Facebooks video calling will only be a two way call. Google+ therefore have the edge on this.... for now.

Another feature of Google+ is that it allows you to group your friends into different categories easily. So if you want to post something, but don't want your mother to see it, then this will be an easy option to take. See the video below:

There is also a function called Huddles, which is not unlike Facebooks 'inviteto' section. However this looks a lot more manageable and easy to use. Check out the video below for more on Google+ huddles feature.

My opinion is that things surrounding the internet, social networking and mobile phone is moving forward at a very fast pace. Sometimes you purchase something and by the time you've got it home, there's already a newer version out. So any new addition such as Google plus, isn't going to affect things too much, instead it will probably just help improve things even more.

Facebook has dominated the social networking market for a long time now, and although there are similar rivals such as My-Space and Twitter, nothing has come as close to it as I believe Google+ will. (Yes, I know My-Space was launched before Facebook, but it didn't have the impact Facebook did on social networking).

I think it's about time that there was a huge rival to Facebook, and Google+ is definitely going to be it.

There are concerns however that Google+ is just another way of tracking people and their movements around the internet, as discussed in this article:

Have you been invited to participate in the trial of Google plus?

Do you have any comments or thoughts on this matter?

Will you check Google plus out when it is launched?

Google Plus - A Threat to Facebook

Googlehas launched what everyone is calling "Facebook's new competitor", to face the Internet's number one and most preferred social networking website, Facebook. People are saying that this may start a newwar, against all othersocial networkingsites includingFacebookwhich has more than 600 million users!

Google has tried its best in the past at social networking but ultimately failed to make a difference on the web, and so here comesGoogle Plus! It provides users with features that we experience on various other sites such asFacebook, Twitter, Flickr, Foursquare, etc. The latest features available on the website includestatus updating, photo sharing, video sharing and even video chatting! Even though Google Plus is currently in the so-calledinvitation-only-registrationmode, it has already become a sensation with a huge number of invites being sent. It seems to be Google's "strategy", to create hype by exploiting users and exploring the eagerness they have for its service.

There are onlyfour silos(home, photos, profile and circles) to click on. Though games such as Farmville are not available on the website. The website has a few features similar to that of Facebook, includingsharing, editing, deleting photos and videos. Users also have an option to mute' the annoying conversations on their stream. The application for iOS is available and is also functional for the Android platform, but is stillnot available for Symbianusers, which is a sad. The new "circles" concept is pretty interesting which Google has included, that allows users to create their own social spheres.

Google Plus is something really innovative and new from Google. It integrates all of Google's features into one social network, making the experience a whole lot better. Facebook recently announced the "Skype Video integration" into their social network, which shows that Facebook will do anything to stay at the top and remain the most preferred social network' on the Internet. Things haven't been going too well in the past few months atMountain Viewfor Google, and so, Google's "top-secret" project has finally been revealed, and this may bethe end of Facebook Dominance.

Search Google Smartly

1.Force keywords

Some times, not all words mentioned in the Google search bar come up in the search results. This is especially true for searches with many keywords. It suffices to say that its Googles way of giving you the most relevant results. To force a certain keyword or phrase to be included in the search. Try to use +(plus) sign. For example, Typing in Dumb Little Man(without quotes) will bring some results without one or more of those words. If you need the word Esperto (which is a common word and hence Google may leave it out) type Dumb+Little+Man.

2.Either/or

Google normally searches for pages that contain all the words you type in the search box, but if you want pages that have one term or another (or both), use the OR operator or use the | symbol (pipe symbol) to save you a keystroke. [dumb | little | man]

3.Quotes

If you want to search for an exact phrase, use quotes. ["dumb little man"] will only find that exact phrase. [dumb "little man"] will find pages that contain the word dumb and the exact phrase little man.

4.Not

If you dont want a term or phrase, use the - symbol. [-dumb little man] will return pages that contain little and man but that dont contain dumb.

5.Similar terms (Synonym Search)

Use the ~ symbol to return similar terms. [~dumb little man -dumb] will get you pages that contain funny little man and stupid little man but not dumb little man.

6.Wildcard The * symbol is a wildcard. This is useful if youre trying to find the lyrics to a song, but cant remember the exact lyrics. [Cant * me love lyrics] will return the Beatles song youre looking for.

7.File types

Use filetype: Searchstring before you search query. For Example filetype: pdf will fetch you only PDFs. filetype: pdf Five Point someone will fetch you all PDFs related with Fivepoint Someone novel. You can use this for any file types including ppt, doc, xls or anything you want.

8.Advanced search

If you cant remember any of these operators, you can always use Googles advanced search. Google has an excellent advanced search facility to help refine your searching. Rather than replicate this here, a PDF document can be downloaded at [/searchguide.html]. Click on Advanced Search Tips in advanced Search Screen for more tips.

9.Cached pages (Find lost pages)

Simply click on the cache link (at the bottom of each search result), and that will retrieve the last saved version of the page that had failed to show some times. This is a powerful, extremely helpful tool when you come across old pages from Web sites that no longer exist or are no longer maintained. These are stored in Google Servers. If some websites takes longer time to load we can open the content through Cache option.

10.Excluding Unwanted Results

The - (minus) sign is used to exclude certain words from your search. If you want to search information about 3.0 SoapUI Version Details, youll probably get a lot of results about all the soapUI Software versions. Instead of 3.0 soapUI try 3.0. soapUI -2.5 -2.0 -1.7 -1.6J.

11.Calculator

One of the handiest uses of Google, type in a quick calculation in the search box and get an answer. Its faster than calling up your computers calculator in most cases. Use the +, -, *, / symbols and parentheses to do a simple equation.

12.Numrange

This little-known feature searches for a range of numbers. For example, ["best books 2002..2007] will return lists of best books for each of the years from 2002 to 2007 (note the two periods between the two numbers).

13.Unit converter

Use Google for a quick conversion, from yards to meters for example, or different currency: [12 meters in yards]

14.Definitions

Use the define: operator to get a quick definition. [define:dumb] will give you a whole host of definitions from different sources, with links.

15.Putting Document titles to use

allintitlesearches for pages that have all your search words in the title of the web page. So if you want sites that have microsoft and knowledge in the title type in allintitle: (space) microsoft knowledge.or even try allintitle: fun net..[Without quotes]

16.Searching by URLs

You can also search for terms that occur in the URLs of documents. For example, if you want to find the word mac in the sites that have apple in the URL, where mac may or may not be in the URL, use this inurl:applemacthe word apple will then be in the URL. Note that there should be no space between inurl and apple.

Internet Products Are Changing How we Watch TV - Hulu Plus, Netflix And Google TV

Imagine paying $50 a month to get a few TV channels you want, amongst hundreds you don't, just to view a few programs that interest you; all at a set time you have no control over. This has become the norm for watching TV, but things are changing. There are various internet products which are challenging cable TV and how we view content. The methods may differ, but these internet products and services provide consumers with an alternative viewing experience.

Services like Google TV, Hulu (which just recent unveiled its Plus service), and Netflix on Demand allow consumers to choose from a wide selection of content options, to view online programs on every increasing larger TV screens, or go mobile with various mobile devices. They allow you to view content when it suits you and not have to rely on TV recordings. And with the case of Google TV you can take advantage of great interactive features and functions.

Hulu Plus, is a $10 per month plan which provides several options for on demand viewing. It has a larger selection of TV shows, mostly from its three corporate partners ABC, Fox and NBC. But it is no longer just recent TV shows and clips, you have whole series both past and present to choose from. This will not only be available on your computer. Gone are the days of trying to connect your computer to your Television. Hulu will have software running on Samsung TVs, a number of Blu-ray Players and soon gaming consoles such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If you want Hulu to be mobile, it will appear via an app on iPhone and the iPad.

Netflix is another $10 per month streaming service which can be found on most new Blu-ray Players. It is just one of the many pay per view movie services that will allow you to stream HD new releases directly to your TV for a rental fee per showing. Others include Vudu, Blockbuster on Demand and Amazon Video on Demand. By streaming content directly to your TV with these services you are effectively removing your cable box from your home viewing experience. And then there is Google TV. It is different from other internet TV services, in that it incorporates the whole of the Internet. Based on an open platform, the Google's Android operating System; Google TV devices will allow consumers to search the internet to find video, music and other related content. You will not be confined to just cable programming. It has a large set of interactive features such as Picture-in-Picture. Allowing you to look up statistics while watching the World Series, chat to other viewers from all over the world, or even to shop online.

Cable companies and Cable TV will not be disappearing anytime soon. They to are trying to evolve and adapt to the latest trends. Adding more content on their Web Sites and trying to bring TV content to different devices. Only time will tell if this strategy will work. But more and more people are saying goodbye to cable and relying totally on online services. According to an April report by Convergence Consulting Group, 800,000 U.S. households got rid of their Cable TV service. Many predict this number will rise even more in the coming years. Seems consumers want to view their shows without any constraints; not having to rely on schedules or a cable box in their Entertainment Theater. They want their shows on their phones, pads, gaming consoles, Blu-ray Players, and on demand.

Is Google A Neural Network?

How big is the Web? The last numbers I saw (Feb 2010) estimated 750 million websites worldwide, plus 200 million blogs. There are of course other domains which Google scans. Other figures suggest 25 billion indexed webpages (Netcraft March 2009), but that number will have grown a lot since then. In this context, we take 'Google' to be a combination of a search engine and an instantaneous results set across all web site and blog resources worldwide.

Here, I use the term neural network not in the strict Artificial Intelligence sense, but in a more general sense.

Consider a simple model of the human brain. It has a set of data inputs (visual, auditory, chemical - taste and smell, pressure - touch, thermal, inertial - the ear canals) and a memory structure. Data input is captured in short term memory. Brain processing adds context making it information, then sorts and filters it, and then moves it to long term memory. This move to long term memory is thought to happen during sleep and dreaming.

The short and long term memory takes the form of synapses (junctions between brain cells). More input on a given memory strengthens the relevant synapses - that is repeated exposure to a given input strengthens the particular memory. For example, the more we taste bananas, then the easier it is to 'recreate' the taste in our minds.

We know that as we age, the more salient memories (stronger synapses from earlier in our lives) are easier to retrieve, short term memory becomes less efficient and recent (but long term) memories are difficult to retrieve.

So, moving on, where was I? Oh yes, I remember now.

Our ability to build new synapses falls off with age in most people. Autonomic responses (e.g. breathing) use 'hard wired' memory in the hypothalamus which is a very primitive part of the brain structure, akin to 'read-only' memory in a computer.

So, consider Google to have a set of data inputs - primarily the bot/crawler data gathering, but also input about the 'popularity' of web pages as gathered through use of its search engine by users. The data from these bots about a given web page - for example keyword relevance of content, the number of external links to the page and so on, is converted into Google's proprietary and secret page rank scores and provides a 'salience' for the analogous or proxy Google synapse. The analogous Google synapse is simply (I assume as I am not privy to Google's design) a database row for the website/page with the aforementioned data items (including the page rank/scoring factors) in the columns, site map entries and site refresh rate and search history information. Plus, no doubt, lots more as they are avid data gatherers.

Of course the analogy with the human brain breaks down with time, as we would not expect the Google model to suffer from a capacity limitation or by a constraint imposed by 'technology' (as happens with the brain when we age and the synapse building processes become less efficient).

What makes this analogy interesting? Well, consider how we might wish to add to human brain capacity and extend its efficiency - we are getting into William Gibson territory now (he was the author who invented the term 'cyberspace'). Why plug additional memory chips into the brain, when all that is needed is a wireless chip connecting to Google? Google Translator - no problem, speak a new language instantly! Science fiction? I don't think it is that far away (less than 50 years I guess). The potential social consequences are quite frightening to consider.

Make your next Graphic Design Job Your Last. How to retire wealthy in a few easy steps

We've all dreamed of spending our working days reclinining back in a deck chair eating cheese sandwiches on an overcast summers day. But then we remember the mortgage/kids/wifes $500 a day drug habit and our fantasies turn to dust. It doesn't have to be this way. Here at we show in 5 easy steps how you can quit that lousy Graphic Design job and spend the rest of your life living in easy street.

Step 1: Think yourself in a better place and low and behold it will happen

This is your first step towards financial freedom. Imagine if you will yourself sat upon a huge pile of money, flinging it in the air with gay abandon and why not? Congratulations you've just made the first step towards making this a reality. Forget the graphic designer career you had mapped out. Let's join the idle rich instead.

Step 2: Tell the boss what you think of him and burn those bridges!

Now its time to get some payback. Remember the time your design studio manager had you stay late and manually key in that 1oo page farming brochure text by hand and then laughed at you in your face? Right, we'll show him who's boss. A good way to be forcibly removed from the office and earn some extra kudos from your fellow graphic design employees is to take a dump and leave it festering away in a drawer in the bosses desk.Just wait for his reaction when he smells that sick stunt. You're history.

Step 3: When you hit rock bottom the only way is up, up and away

No job = No money right? Wrong you putz. How do you think the tramps and beggars fill there days outside sainsburys? That's right - drinking and robbing. It isn't absolutely necessary to pick up a drink and drug habit at this stage but it isn't going to harm your chances of success. Now would also be a good opportunity to get rid of the other half if you happen to have one. A spot of domestic violence after hitting the bottle is usually enough encouragement. Hey Presto, one more tiresome burdon off your back!

Step 4: Remember keep your vision and your dreams will come true

At every stage in this degenerate journey, never lose sight of that image we visuallised in step one of yourself sitting astride a huge pile of banknotes. They can take away your dignity but not your dreams. After several years of eeking out a living as a street bum its time to get this show on the road. Think hard about your previous day to day life, was there someone in your remote family or circle of friends who had a large stash of cash readily disposable? It's time to pay them a visit with cap in hand.

Step 5: Invest wisely and you can say hello to a life of wanton abandon

Now after securing your large sum of cash from your chosen aquaintence, its prudent not to blow it all in one go on 200ft gold statues of yourself or buying an amusement park complete with zoo. No, you don't want to be going back to the nine to five graphic design day job do you? There are a thousand ways to invest your cash so that it will sit pretty and continue giving you a steady stream or revenue for a long time. Property for example is 'as safe as houses' or maybe put it all in a high interest savings account. It's taken a long time to reach your goal and hopefully the pain, ill health and loneliness have been worth it.

Submitting Your Blog to Search Engines

The most prominent web search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN, each entail different methods of accepting a blog. If you submit a blog according to the appropriate method to each respective search engine, you can just ping for your blog whenever you post it. Discussed below are the methods of blog submission to aforementioned top ranked search engines.

Google requires the creation of a sitemap when you submit a blog to this search engine. This eliminates the need to resubmit the same blog. All that is necessary then is that the site map remains updated. Additionally, if a sitemap plug in is installed, a site map will be automatically be updated for certain blogs like Word press. The plug in will also alert Google to the fact that the site has been altered.

It is necessary to note that when submitting blogs to Google, you submit your blog site maps to blog directories that feed Google the results for its blog search. Sites like Feed Shot are quite user friendly for web site map submissions to blog directories. All that would be needed to be done then is that you ping your blog to maintain it at these directories.

Yahoo differs from Google is blog submission primarily due to the fact that it accepts a site feed rather than a sitemap. The blog site feed can be made at the first block. It is also advantageous to submit blogs to a My Yahoo page, as this can expedite the addition of blogs, and get them indexed in Yahoo's blog search.

It should be noted that blog submission to both Google and Yahoo requires the creation of an account which is free of charge.

Finally, we come to MSN, the methodology of blog submission to which, although is direct, and does not require that you have an account. However, the blogs need to be submitted manually to MSN in order to ensure that your blogs are successfully submitted. However they are ways available with MSN that can result in your entire blog showing in its site results. As a result, a lot of potential traffic would be drawn to your work.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, once you have submitted your blog to the three prominent search engines, i.e. Google, Yahoo, and MSN, you can simply ping each time to post a new blog. It may be worth noting though that there are several blog directories, some of which may or may not be pertinent to your blog. In order to be optimally noticed, you should submit your blog to all those blog directories that are appropriate for your subject.

If the above described factors are well known, you would not only be able to submit blogs, articles, or any other content, but also ensure that your submissions attract an optimal number of web surfers to them! Happy Blogging!

VoIP News Vonage Tries To Solve Its Problems With IPO

Vonage announced on Feb 8 that it intends to issue an IPO in an attempt to raise $250 million. This move underlines some of the problems mainstream VoIP providers are having.

The problem for Vonage is that while its subscriber base is growing, it is still losing money. According to the IPO filing, Vonage lost $189.6 million on sales of $174 million in the first nine months of 2005.

The company spends so much on marketing that it is almost impossible to make money from low spending subscribers. Average single line subscribers paid $26.73 per month in 2005. But the company spent $213.77 per subscriber on marketing. That means it would take more than 8 months to recoup their up front marketing costs.

Market share is also shrinking and the competition is ramping up. Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are all aggressively entering the market.

They are also getting squeezed on the expense side. Currently VOiP providers like Vonage offload the carrier costs to internet subscribers. But the major telcos are lobbying hard for approval to charge providers like Vonage extra tool fees for the ramped up level of service required to make wide scale VOiP possible.

Pure VOiP providers like Vonage are eating into the traditional market of the telcos. So it seems almost inevitable that the telcos will retaliate in various ways to either hold on to their customer base, or convert customers to their own services.

**Other developments in VoIP

Microsoft - Gates and company will be entering the VoIP market aggressively in 2006. The new version of MSN Messenger, called Windows Live Messenger will have advanced VoIP capabilities, and an interface with the traditional phone system through an agreement with MCI. This alliance with MCI is Microsoft's way of avoiding the threat of telco toll charges.

As with Skype, PC to PC calls will be free using Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft and MCI claim that PC to landline calls will cost only a few cents a minute, and much less than some other alternatives currently being developed.

Google - Much like Microsoft and Yahoo, Google is putting the pieces together to offer a comprehensive PC to PC chat/voice service, as well as a PC to landline service. That would take Google just one relatively small step from becoming a complete VoIP provider.

Google released Google Talk last August, and recently announced the release of Gmail Chat which integrates GMail and Chat. For voice capability, users still have to download the Google Talk client, but it is just a matter of time before there is one client for all three services (mail, chat, talk).

The company has also confirmed that it is working with VoiceOne, a Florida company owned by VoIP Inc. VoiceOne is providing Google with "click-to-call" services. This free service lets people speak directly to Adwords advertisers who come up in searches, with the costs, presumably, being covered by advertisers.

Yahoo - Yahoo announced in December that they will offer two new fee-based voice over IP services so customers can make voice calls from a PC to a telephone and receive phone calls on a PC.

The new VoIP services are called Phone Out and Phone In and are part of Yahoo Messenger with Voice.

Phone Out will let users to make calls from a PC to traditional or mobile phones in more than 180 countries. Projected cost will be $0.01 per minute to the U.S. and less than $0.02 per minute to more than 30 international countries.

Phone In will let users receive calls on a PC from traditional or mobile phones for $2.99 a month. Multiple phone numbers will be available for travelers, and phone numbers in different countries will be available so people who call them from that area will only pay for a local call. This is very similar to Skype's current offerings (see below).

Skype - EBay bought Skype in 2005 for $2.6 billion, so chances are they have big plans for the service. Skype offers a range of VoIP services, but so far all require at least one user be tethered to a PC with a broadband connection. Services include free computer-to-computer calls, as well as paid calls from a PC to the public network (SkypeOut) or public phone to PC (SkypeIn).

With the release of Skype 2.0, the company has announced a number of enhancements to their core service such as teleconferencing capability, and video calling. Another useful service is Skype VoiceMail. Callers from anywhere can call your number and leave a voice mail on your computer.

Judging from their web-centric approach to VoIP, Skype does not have plans to directly compete with the telcos for traditional phone business. However, they are well-positioned to offer click-to-call services to everything from community and dating websites, to EBay itself.

Microsoft will take over Skype by the price of $7 billion - Business - Small Business

The morning of May 10 Beijing time, according to informed sources, Microsoft is about to reach an agreement with Skype, more than seven billion U.S. dollars will buy the Internet voice call service provider.

Alleged that Microsoft will be from 7000 to 8000 million U.S. dollars to buy Skype.Skype's long-term debt with the deal's total value of up to 85 billion U.S. dollars. The two sides completed negotiations Monday night, but the deal could still fail. Microsoft and Skype declined to comment on.

Currently, Skype has more than 663 million worldwide users, a new generation of Internet users in one of the core technology platform. 2010, Skype user's voice and video call time of up to 207 billion minutes.

Using a program called Skype voice calls over Internet Protocol technology, it will call as a data like e-mail messages, and then routed on the Internet, not the traditional phone network mode. Skype users can download free software and free Skype phone calls online or a specific user. Skype users can make free phone calls or video calls wired.

If Microsoft's acquisition of Skype, it will be able to this popular, many users will be integrated into the service in competition with Google; also be integrated into the Windows Phone platform, and Apple in mobile phones and Google Android iOScompetition; even with Office integration to help businesses better collaborate.

Since 2003, turned out, Skype has been seen as a potential threat to traditional phone companies. Not aware that sales of Windows Mobile and Windows Phone mobile phone operators how to look at the deal, and how Microsoft will integrate its Skype phone operating system is also unknown.

Analysts believe that Microsoft is taking action to stop Google in Internet communications take greater advantage. Independent analyst Rob Andrew (Rob Enderle), said: "This is between Microsoft and Google as part of a strategic rival."

Andrew that, Facebook value higher, but do not possess adequate cash, like Microsoft. He said: "Microsoft's standing in Facebook here. In a way, it is Google's strategy of confrontation with the intention to Facebook."

While Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (Steve Ballmer) the Internet as one of the main battlefield of the company, but the main virtue of the software giant and Office software, Windows operating system to make huge profits. Investors are increasingly concerned that Apple, Google and other companies in the competition, Microsoft's two core business profits under pressure.

Microsoft Office department developed a product called Lync, this product integrates e-mail, IM software, and voice communications services. Microsoft's acquisition of Skype will enhance the product.

Microsoft's acquisition of Skype also reflects the desire of the development of Skype. In 2003, Nicholas Zennstr?m (Niklas Zennstrom) and the Yalu Staver Reese (Janus Friis) founded the file-sharing technology Kazza, this technology with a number of music piracy events. However, by providing users an attractive international call for free or cheap phone service, Skype has become mainstream.

36-year history of Microsoft, usually does not initiate a huge acquisition. Therefore, if the acquisition of $ 7,000,000,000 spent Skype, it will be Microsoft's largest since the establishment of an acquisition. In 2006, Microsoft spent about 60 billion acquisition of Internet advertising company aQuantive. Many current and former Microsoft executives agreed that the deal price is too high. However, they are glad Microsoft 3 years ago, did not spend 48 billion U.S. dollars to buy Yahoo. The latter is not today's market and 480 billion dollars in half.

When eBay in 2005 to 2.6 billion to buy Skype, the latter is viewed as an experiment, let eBay buyers and sellers through the service to communicate potential transactions. However, this experiment has failed, eBay gave up in 2007, Skype, only to recover 1.4 billion dollars of investment.

70% of the company will sell by the Skype shares Silver Lake, Index Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board formed investment consortium. The Microsoft deal from these institutions to get good returns.

Skype business history is more complex. Created eight years, the company no profit almost every year. With the global expansion of Skype services, its profits still an uncertainty. Skype last year, revenue was 8.6 billion and operating profit of 2.64 billion U.S. dollars, but still loss of $ 7,000,000. As of December 31, 2010, Skype is also saddled with $ 686,000,000 in long-term debt.

Skype will open up in Microsoft's mobile phone market to play a role in the latter competition in the market have been far behind rival Google and Apple. Microsoft last year released a mobile phone operating system Windows Phone 7, won the critics of the system, although the compliment, but could not quite help the company increase market share.

But Microsoft will integrate its mobile Skype application software is likely to be very careful when, because they also need to reach an agreement with wireless operators, Skype users can make inexpensive Internet phone calls, and operators do not need to pay raise the fare.

Last August, Skype plans to submit the listing documents, but its initial public offering (IPO) in the new CEO (Tony Bates) delayed after he took office. The source said that, Skype was originally expected to raise through the IPO close to 10 billion dollars, while they also Facebook, Google, Cisco and other potential buyers to negotiate. Skype plans to sell 50-60 billion dollars. However, there are recent reports that Microsoft also became interested in Skype.

Free Websites Showcase Your Videos Online

If you didn't realize that video will take over online this year, you haven't been paying attention.

Everything from video blogs to full-blown website infomercials keep cropping up all across the Internet.

The driving force behind this video explosion is a combination of cheap bandwidth, easy-to-use authoring tools, and Flash video (a video format that works on both PC and MAC).

With the sudden increase in homemade videos about everything from "how-to break dance" to infomercials about real estate products, it seems only natural that another explosion should follow: the appearance of numerous websites that showcase these homegrown Steven Spielberg's.

In fact, these online videos have gained so much popularity some have even crossed over into mainstream television.

Of the three main online video hosting services I looked at, they all shared the following characteristics.

They all allow you to upload your video and host it free of charge, making it super easy for even the most technically challenged videographer.

They all allow visitors to search their sites using keywords, so describing your video and choosing a good title (with keywords people search for) will help increase your exposure.

One of the most exciting features common to these sites is that they allow you and others to get copy-and-paste code that you can place on a blog or website (or anywhere else you can paste html code) and display a video without hosting it yourself.

This one feature can cause an explosive "viral" effect if you create a video that appeals to a mass audience because people can not only pass it along, but post it in additional locations for everyone to see.

Video.Google.com - Google's video service makes it possible to upload and play your videos for people searching through their growing catalog of homegrown video.

You'll find everything from web-cam karaoke to infomercials and "live" seminars. One of the best things about Google video is the daily report about how many pages views your video got during the previous day or week.

Also, Google allows you to charge for your videos if you want, something the other sites don't yet offer.

A disadvantage of the service is that, of the three, Google Video takes the longest to approve your videos and make them available, sometimes taking 48 hours or longer to make a video "live."

YouTube.com - YouTube seems to want to foster a feeling of community with its video portal.

Unlike Google Video, which requires a separate software program to upload video, YouTube allows users to upload video right through their website interface. Of the three sites profiled here, YouTube's embedded player makes it easiest to share and pass along video from a blog.

They also approved my video and had it live online in less than 10-minutes.

IFilm.com - The coolest thing about IFilm.com is the fact that they have a show on VH1 every Friday called "Web Junk 20" which features the funniest web videos of the week on real television.

They also actively promote the concept of "viral videos" with a separate category in their directory profiling videos you want to share.

The only negative was that their pass-along player forces viewers to watch a short ad about IFilm at the beginning, something the other two don't do.

Which means that your Internet site will rank higher in the search engines when you've got more backlinks to your web page. When it comes to the value of each backlink you will discover that many backlinks have better value as compared to others. Let's just say th at you have a web link on a Internet site that has a page rank of 3, if the backlink is on the home page of that site you will find that it has more value than if the link is found on a sub page of that Internet site. You need to consider the actual page rank where your link is located to ascertain its value, but the home page rank may make a slight difference in value. When men and women trade links with other websites normally those other sites have a separate page on their site where they place the web link for your website. And this lowers the worth of that backlink. Another thing you need to remember about these link pages is that your link might be surrounded by a huge selection of other links. Google does not like to discover this type of thing so obviously these backlinks are not really counted.Google also gives more recognition to one way backlinks than they offer to websites that trade backlinks. For those of you that are unaware a one way link is when you don't hav e to link back to the site that has your link on it. In Google's eyes these kinds of one way links are as good as gold. Something else you will have to be cautious of is trading backlinks with Internet sites that Google doesn't like as this may hurt the reputation of your site. Which is the exact opposite thing you're trying to achieve. To be truthful there are benefits to trading links with good websites, if the Internet site is looked at as an authority site by Google and if the page where your backlink is provides good traffic on it. On the other hand when you end up on a deep page of that website you must also understand that there is a chance that Google is not going to even index that page because it is merely full of links. But that's exactly what a lot of people do when they trade backlinks. To summarize, when you are able your better off creating one way links and there are lots of ways to accomplish this, but trading links is something which is going by the wayside.

Trading Links - Is It Still A Strong Marketing And Advertising Method - Web Design

Almost everyone in the Website marketing field know that backlink building can really make or break their online business. And a few years ago, trading links along with various other websites was looked upon as being a great way to build backlinks. But with all the alterations that Google has made over time, is this still regarded as a good marketing technique? In this article we are going to be investigating just that, in order to inform you about the answer. For those of you who don't know a backlink is simply a link pointing to your site coming from another website. For the most part you'll find that the major search engines count these inbound links as a popularity vote for your website. And when you can build a large amount of links the search engines will compensate your website with far better rankings in their results. When it comes to the value of each backlink you'll find that some backlinks have better value as compared to others. For example if you have a link o n a site that has a page rank of 4 and that website link is on the home page, it is worth more than the same kind of link found on a different page of that site. In order to determine the worth of the backlink you'll want to look at the page the link is on, rather than what the page rank of the home page is, even though the home page rank can still help a little. When people trade links with other sites normally those other sites have a separate web page on their site where they place the web link for your site. Because of this the worth of that link is not as powerful as if it was on the home page. Another thing you need to remember about these link web pages is that your link could be surrounded by countless other links. I am sure the majority of you already know that Google frowns upon this and generally these links do not even get counted.Google additionally gives more authority to one way links than they give to Internet sites that trade links. A one way link is when you have a link on some other Internet site but you don't link back to that website. In Google's eyes these kinds of one way links are usually as good as gold. You may also find sites that Google has de-indexed and if you wind up trading backlinks with them it is possible to hurt your own rankings. Of course it's not your aim to have Google dislike you, but it can happen if you trade backlinks with the wrong sites. To be truthful there are advantages to trading links with good websites, if the website is looked at as an authority website by Google and if the web page where your backlink is provides good traffic on it. There is always the possibility that Google is not going to even index a deep page that has lots of links on it, so if your link ends up there, it is worthless. The issue is that most sites that trade backlinks actually have some sort of links page that doesn't get indexed. There are a lot of ways to get backlinks for your Internet site and when you can build high quality one way links, they will generally beat out link exchanges each and every time.
