With Calaboration, you can quickly and easily set up bi-directional syncing between iCal and Google Calendar with just a few clicks of your mouse. Just run it once to set up your calendar syncing and you shouldn't need to run it again until you need to add a different calendar.

But here's how to perform the sync manually with iCal through the CalDAV remote calendar standard.

Note:Setting up iCal with GCal varies slightly based on whether you're using your default Google calendar or a secondary calendar. First, here's how to set up your default Google Calendar with iCal:

1.Open iCal, then go to Preferences (iCal -> Preferences or Cmd-,).

2.Here, click on the "Accounts" tab, and then click on the '+' button to add a new remote calendar.

3.Name the calendar, then enter your Google account username and password.

4.Click on Server options to display the Account URL text box. For your default calendar, enter the following URL:

https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/username@gmail.com/user

...replacingusername@gmail.comwith yours.

Once you've done that, just hit "Add" iCal will download all your events and you're good to go!

If you want to add a secondary calendar, the steps are exactly the same as above with one small difference. Instead of your email address in the Account URL as described in step 4, you need to replace that with the calendar ID for that specific calendar. You can find it by opening Google Calendar, clicking the on arrow next to the calendar you want to sync, and selecting Calendar settings. In the settings, find the Calendar Address section near the bottom of the page (which is formatted like anemailaddress) and put it in place ofusername@gmail.comin the above mentioned URL.
