Froyo vs apple: which one tastes better?

With so much technology at our fingertips these days, mobile phones are now taking the roles of several gadgets (computers, cameras and music & video players) and yet maintain their aesthetic looks. We are talking about Smartphone, iPhone and iPad gadgets that are becoming the apple' of every mobile user's eye.

With mobile phones set to run on a multiple operation platforms, one factor remains constant if the handset will live to defend its name; the need for speed. This means a better processing speed for the device and a highly sensitive and fast User Interface display to run two applications at once without reducing the gadget to a vegetable.

It is from this idea that mobile phone OS software like Androidand Apple IOSare stemmed. Users of smartphones and PC Tablets are caught between a rock and a hard place in deciding the best operating system to run theirmobile phone applications. Should their phones run on an Android or Apple format? We can determine by going through the features.

Android OS was coined from the original form of the Linux Kernel and was used as a mobile phone operating system. Google then bought the company and transformed the Android outlook. Recently it launched its Android 2.2 version in an I/O expo in May last year. Apple IOS on the other hand was originally formed to support the iPhone but has further been upgraded to run iPads, iPod touch and the Apple TV app.

So who's the real McCoy here? Android 2.2 seems to fair pretty well in applications. Android Inc. managed to come up with a better looking UI screen for easy use. Initially, the screen only had one button on the screen to run the menu and was situated at the bottom of the screen. With a few brainy ideas thrown in, the UI now has two buttons, one to run the menu and the other for the browser shortcut with a middle icon to show you the page you are currently on.

Apple IOS 4 has its fair share of improvements too; compared to the IOS in the iPhone, this new 4.2 version is said to run on a lesser RAM. However, it is said not to compromise its functionalities. It has a 4-style multitasking format which runs perfect on the lesser RAM. It is even much cooler the way you can type and send emails and still watch videos and play games at the same time.

Android 2.2, better known as Froyo in the market, fights back with an improvised way of loading up your recently visited applications. The previous Android operating system could only load back a maximum of six previously viewed applications. The newer version is now designed to load a cool 8 applications all at once. This is much way bigger compared to the 4-style multitasking format of the Apple IOS 4.

Nevertheless, Apple IOS 4 has a new come back application known as Airplay and Air print. You are now able to import and play videos and games on the Apple TV. Additionally you can connect your iPhone or iPad to a printer and print images and documents using the Airprint application. These two apps have hitches however. For the Airplay option, it is not possible to play videos from sites like Hulu and ABC on your Apple TV. The Airprint option works well in printing but the problem is that it is not compatible with all printers. So you might want to choose your printers wisely.

Android Froyo on the other side has better functioning features compared to Apple IOS version 4.2. You will appreciate the seamless full flash player support app that allows you to stream all your videos with no fuss. Much appreciation will be in the USB tethering options that allow you to connect your mobile phone to other USB outlets with no technical hiccups in between.

So maybe until Apple improves on its flaws, Froyo remains the ideal operating system to run our mobile phone for three reasons; attention to detail thus producing a flawless OS to run all apps. Secondly its Tethering abilities are more superior in comparison to the Apple Airprint option. Thirdly, Android allows full flash player support for better video streaming; Apple will stop playing the video with a quick exit to the home screen unless you are on the multitask option.
