How To Restart An Apple Ipad

The Apple iPad is a touch screen multimedia device that like all computer based devices can potentially freeze up, run slow, or crash in rare instances. Be prepared by knowing how to do a reset of the Apple iPad.

Hold the power button down for 3 to 5 seconds until a small box appears on screen. The power button on the iPad is located on the bottom portion of the device just below the screen.

Slide your finger across the virtual power slide switch towards the OFF position in the box that appears on the screen. You should slide your finger towards the right side.

Wait up to 15 seconds before proceeding.

Hold down the power button for 3 to 5 seconds until the iPad powers back up. The device has successfully been reset once the iPad main screen reappears on the screen.

If the iPad is frozen and you cannot access the virtual power slide switch to begin with, hold down the power button until the screen shuts off and power up screen appears. You may need to try this multiple times if the device does not respond the first time around.

Powering down the iPad when not in use can help conserve battery life and the life of the components. Doing a reset from time to time is also a good way to clear the memory cache and continue to allow the iPad to operate smoothly and quickly.
